ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Burn survivors were invited to share their stories during a Sunday brunch at John Grieco's Metal Shop in Rochester. Created by the Finger Lakes Regional Burn Association, local chefs dished out meals to serve alongside an open bar and coffee. It also included live music, a raffle and prizes. Metal art installations were also available for viewing, and all proceeds went directly to supporting burn survivors - providing crucial aid and comfort to those in need. "I've always talked about this event as having kind of three goals," Paul Schwartzman, the executive director of the association began. "Number one: Burn awareness and, kind of alerting people to the difficulty and trauma of the injury and hopefully some prevention. It's also a celebration of our burn survivors, many of which are here and hopefully we make some money at the same time." If you'd like to donate, click here.
