Person, dog killed in San Leandro apartment fire; 12 displaced

(KRON) -- One person and their family dog died after an apartment fire in San Leandro Sunday afternoon, the Alameda County Fire Department said. The fire broke out at the residence on the 14600 block of Washington Avenue around 3:23 p.m.
Three people were inside the apartment unit that was engulfed in flames, according to ACFD. However, only two of them were able to safely escape on time. The other person died, along with the family dog.
Twelve people were displaced due to the fire. The Red Cross is assisting those individuals, officials said. A total of four apartment units were damaged.

The Alameda County Fire Department responded to a fire at a residence on Sunday afternoon in San Leandro (Citizen App).
The 14600 block of Washington Avenue is near the Living Spaces furniture store. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. No other information about this fire was immediately available.
