BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — A good neighbor is more than just a friend; a good neighbor can be an ally, a comfort, and even a life-saver. But sometimes it can be hard to make that initial connection -- that is, until now, through National Good Neighbor Day. People came out to Dykshoorn Park on Saturday to celebrate the value and importance of community. The Bismarck-Mandan Chamber of Commerce says it's important to foster friendships and community relationships in a digital age where it sometimes feels like technology creates more distance than connection. People got a chance to enjoy live music, learn more about different community resources, play games, and shop from local artisans and food trucks at this free event. But for those who showed up, the event is more than just a way to get a free meal. "Just to show each other," says Kuritz Mitzel, a Prairie Farms sales representative, "that we can all treat each other very well and love each other."
