CARPIO, ND (KXNET) — Berthold Police are investigating the cause of a gravel truck fire that happened on County Road 28 south of Carpio. Police say the truck somehow caught fire on Wednesday. It took firefighters more than an hour to put it out, and three departments were there to assist with the fire. We're told the driver wasn't injured, but he did suffer smoke inhalation. The truck was a total loss. Police say they're looking into whether the truck's exhaust played a role in causing the fire.
