VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - An Uber driver was assaulted and robbed early Sunday morning, Visalia Police say. Investigators report that the ride-share driver had just dropped off a passenger at the Highland Gardens apartment complex in the 2400 block of Highland Street. It was then, police say, that two men in a dark-colored SUV pulled up beside him. The man told police that one of the suspects got out of their SUV, displayed a handgun, and assaulted him before taking some of his things. The vehicle then fled the area, traveling north on Highland. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.
