NEW SHOREHAM, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said it will be temporarily closing two bridges in New Shoreham for preservation work.
The bridges on Beach Avenue and Ocean Avenue will close starting at 8 a.m. on Oct. 1 and are expected to reopen by 5 p.m. on Oct. 2.
RIDOT said motorists should use Corn Neck Road and Ocean Avenue as detours for the Beach Avenue bridge closure and use Beach Avenue, Center Road, and West Side Road as detours for Ocean Avenue.
Both bridges will remain accessible to pedestrians and cyclists and local access will be permitted.
