FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) said a man was hit and killed by a car on Thursday morning.
Officers said that on September 26 at about 6:45 a.m., they responded to Richmond Highway and Woodlawn Trail in Hybla Valley for a crash involving a pedestrian.
Police said James Matthew Martin, 57, was crossing Richmond Highway outside the crosswalk when he was hit by a car.

Martin died there.
The driver of the vehicle left the scene before police arrived.
Officers identified the driver the next day.
Officers are still trying to determine if speed or alcohol was a factor in the crash.
