MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Memphis Police say that a woman is dead after she was hit by a bus overnight. At approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded to two separate pedestrian-struck accidents at Union Avenue near South McLean. First, a woman was struck by a bus. She was pronounced deceased on the scene. The bus remained on the scene. MPD: Man fatally shot while trying to stop woman from being abused While attempting to help the woman, a male pedestrian was also struck. The car that struck the man was a black SUV that fled the scene. The man was taken to Regional One Hospital in non-critical condition. Memphis Police say that both crashes are ongoing investigations.
