FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) - A victim was hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds following a Saturday evening shooting in Fond du Lac, authorities say a suspect was taken into custody after a standoff hours after. According to the Fond du Lac Police Department (FDLPD), officers responded to 1st Street and Adams Street for reports of gunshots around 8:05 p.m. on September 28. Officers then found a 48-year-old Fond du Lac man with multiple gunshot wounds to an arm and a leg on South Portland Street between Sheboygan and East Division Street, where life-saving measures began. A perimeter was set up and SWAT and Crisis Negotiations teams from FDLPD and the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office were called in. The release notes that armored vehicles, K-9 teams, a drone, and 'robot resources' were also used during the incident, while residents in the area were told to shelter in place. Around 12:10 a.m. on Sunday, September 29, the suspect, later identified as a 39-year-old Fond du Lac resident, turned himself in.
