SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- Deputies have arrested and charged a school bus aide for allegedly committing sex offenses against children with disabilities according to the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office. The Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office "Child Victim Unit" arrested Miguel Velasquez Velasco, 22, of Fredericksburg, on the evening of Sept. 26 for allegedly assaulting three students with disabilities on the school bus earlier that day. School authorities initially notified detectives after suspicions were raised of inappropriate touching of a student on a school bus. Detectives and school administration immediately began investigating and obtained substantial evidence that Velasquez Velasco had assaulted the three children, according to the sheriff's office. The victim's ages range from 4 to 5 years old. Authorities arrested Velasquez Velasco, charging him with counts of aggravated sexual battery of a child, two counts of indecent liberties of a child while in a custodial role and one count of attempted sodomy of a child. He was incarcerated in the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond. The investigation is ongoing.
