HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. (WNCN) — First responders from Holly Springs and Apex teamed up to rescue a man whose vehicle became stuck in floodwater Friday afternoon in Holly Springs. Watch: Downed tree on Randleman Road in Greensboro The rescue took place at 1288 Holly Springs New Hill Road just before 3 p.m., according to officials. The Holly Springs Fire Department was the lead agency, with Apex Fire Department assisting. According to officials, the man drove around barricades that were put up due to the high water. The man's vehicle became inoperable and partially submerged. The man was on top of his vehicle and unable to escape the overflowing White Oak Creek when emergency personnel arrived, according to officials. A swift water rescue team was able to bring the man back to dry land.
