BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Recreation and Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge will be hosting a free movie night in the park for adults. BREC will have an outdoor screening of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" on Friday, Oct. 4. The event will be held at the Grand Pavilion at BREC's Highland Road Community Park beginning at 6 p.m. with live music by Izzy and the Funky Pack. There will also be a cocktail hour, food, photos and interactive performances from Vaudeville Entertainment, which will be followed by pre-show initiation games and performances, according to a news release. Leading up to the movie, there will be a costume contest at 8 p.m. According to the release, the winner of the costume contest will receive a prize from Burgersmith. The showing of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" will begin at 9:30 p.m. "Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets or can secure a spot in limited seating available on a first-come, first-served basis at the start of the event," the news release said. Parking will also be available at the entrance of the park, with overflow parking available at the Recreation Center. The park is located at 14024 Highland Road in Baton Rouge.
