WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Kiwanis Club of Westfield hosted their first "Western Mass End Hunger" event on Saturday in Scanlon Hall at Westfield State University. State Line Propane and Oil opens a show room in Westfield Together, clubs from Western Massachusetts and Enfield, Connecticut packaged 10,000 ready-to-make meals to be distributed throughout the clubs in combined areas. “We hope that this is just the first of an annual event,” said Organizer Daniele Sturmer. “Service projects like this demonstrate what Kiwanis is all about. It makes us proud to know wewill be assisting members of our local communities who struggle with food insecurity.” “Food sustainability in Western MA is a huge need and we hope this provides some muchneeded relief to our communities,” said Organizer Heidi Leonard. The Westfield Kiwanis Club works to make the community and better and safer place for kids.
