WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Police in D.C. are investigating a shooting that happened blocks away from Nationals Park during the team's game against the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to the shooting at about 6:46 p.m. at South Capitol Street and O Street SW. A man was taken to the hospital while conscious and breathing. An officer said MPD's Homicide Unit had been requested at the scene. MPD said they were looking for a bearded man who was last seen going Southbound in the 1500 block of South Capitol Street SW. The 1300 Block of South Capitol St at N St SW was closed to traffic as officials investigated.
