WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Police in D.C. are investigating a shooting that happened blocks away from Nationals Park during the team's game against the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to the shooting at about 6:46 p.m. at South Capitol Street and O Street SW. A man was taken to the hospital while conscious and breathing. An officer said MPD's Homicide Unit had been requested at the scene. Injured Canadian Goose in Stafford County sent to rehabilitation center for recovery The shooting happened just minutes after the first pitch. MPD said they were looking for a bearded man who was last seen going Southbound in the 1500 block of South Capitol Street SW. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099 or text the department's tip line at 50411. The 1300 Block of South Capitol St at N St SW was closed to traffic as officials investigated.
