ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) —Local superheroes are descending on Webster in October for a good cause. The Ryan Callahan Foundation is hosting a superhero-themed masquerade ball called "Signal for Hope," which will feature live entertainment, raffles and some immersive experiences for guests to take part in. It's the organization's first fundraising event, with all of the profits going toward the foundation's mission to help kids fight cancer. But organizers emphasized that the kids aren't the only ones in need of support, but the entire family as well. Ryan Callahan Foundation. The Ryan Callahan Foundation has helped dozens of children living with cancer as well as their families. These photos, provided by the foundation, are just some of the many lives they've touched. "It's not just the patient, it's the siblings, its mom and dad. It's providing support to them to make the family feel whole again," said Kyla Callahan, the foundation's co-founder. "We come from two large families ourselves. We have three children and family unity is extremely important to us. And we know that strengthening a family's bond through financial support, family vacations, mental health services, comfort baskets that we deliver to the hospital, this will strengthen their fight for their child, to make them feel whole again." The event is being held in Webster Oct. 3 at Evento East. It begins at 6 p.m. You can buy tickets for the event here.
