KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City Royals fans were hoping for an easy and early victory Friday night. The Royals might've back in but it's nice to be talking about the playoffs. The momentum continues for the Kansas City Royals, who had a magic number of one heading into Friday night. "I'm ready to celebrate," said Royals fan Anthony Riddle. I'm geared up. I'm buying blue lights. I'm gonna be lit, literally." Power and Light had a few fans Friday night. No where near what we'd see for a Chiefs game, but maybe, just maybe, that could change with the Royals looking for a post-season berth. Royals complete remarkable turnaround, making playoffs coming off 106-loss season "At the beginning of the season, I had a feeling that we were going to go to the playoffs this year," Riddle said. "I have receipts to prove it." "When they did it in 2015 that was amazing. It was such a good time around here, just electric. We hope to get back there and see it again," said Royals fan Matt Zabielski. That sentiment shared by all fans, who had to endure one of their worst seasons ever last year. The turnaround for the Royals is incredible – after they lost 106 games just one year ago.But that's all water under the bridge. "We don't really get there very often but we're rooting for them still," Royals fan Tami Currier said. "We want them to win it again." " think we're on track as an organization and team. We have a good young team with some veterans in there," Riddle said.
