WEST COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — Now that Helene has tore her way through the Palmetto State, all that is left is the cleanup. However, the damage is extensive and multiple deaths have been reported here in South Carolina, including two volunteer firefighters in Saluda County.  Four deaths have been reported in the Midlands and nine more deaths have also been reported in the Upstate to bring the total to 13 fatalities in South Carolina from Hurricane Helene. In addition to the high wind speeds, much of the state also is still reeling from flash flooding which started Thursday here in the Midlands. The three areas in South Carolina with the most power outages are Greenville, Spartanburg and Lexington Counties. As of Friday night, more than 235,000 Dominion Energy customers were still in the dark as clean up continues across the Palmetto State.
