Linda Buchanan, Catmandu Meet a very special pair of sisters: Abby and Diva. Abby and Diva are a very sweet and social bonded pair of short-haired tortoiseshell girls seeking a forever home together. Just 5 years old, they have been through a great deal together. They first came to Catmandu in April of 2020. Abby was pregnant and Diva had a litter of six 2-day old babies. They went into foster care together. Abby helped Diva raise her babies, and when Abby had her kittens, Diva returned the favor. They tag-teamed mothering until the kittens were old enough to be adopted. After getting spayed, the girls were adopted into a home where they were very well-loved for the next 4 years. Unfortunately, when their human passed away, they returned to Catmandu. The girls are both very sweet and affectionate. Although they are not lap-warmers, they enjoy pets and like sitting next to their human. Abby and Diva play together, entertain and groom each other. They like sitting in a safe enclosed patio for a breath of fresh air, however, they are not predator savvy and must be indoor cats. Abby loves to be brushed. Both of them like to go under the covers and will happily share your bed with you. While not identical twins, they look a lot alike. Fortunately, Diva has one brown back foot which allows you to tell them apart. Their personalities are also a bit different. Abby adjusts to new people and situations quickly, while Diva tends to hide and take a little longer to feel comfortable. These girls are accustomed to and prefer a quiet home. They would not do well in an active household with lots of commotion, small children or dogs. Although they lived with another cat, they would definitely prefer to be your only animals. If you can give these sisters the forever home they want and need, please complete a pre-adoption application on our website at CatmanduCC.org/adoptions and plan to visit them this weekend at Catmandu, 1829 Brown Street. Potential adopters are welcome Friday through Sunday from 11am to 4 pm. Please plan to arrive no later than 3 pm so you have plenty of time to spend with the cats before adoptions close. Catmandu is a cage-free cat sanctuary and rescue that is celebrating a decade of lifesaving in 2024. Since March of 2014, more than 2700 cats have passed through our doors and into a better life. Many, many other cats and kittens have been helped over the years through our various programs and efforts. Catmandu is a non-profit organization that receives no government funding or assistance from national organizations. We rely on donations and the generosity of the community to continue our lifesaving efforts. If you are interested in donating or volunteering, please visit our website at CatmanduCC.org.
