AUSTIN (KXAN) -- One person is dead after a report of a shooting at a northeast Austin H-E-B that happened Friday, the Austin Police Department told KXAN. Officers responded to a trespass call at the H-E-B at 500 Canyon Ridge Drive. While en route to the grocery store, multiple 911 calls came in referencing a shooting that happened, APD said during a media briefing Friday. When officers arrived around 3:47 p.m., they found a man with "obvious signs of trauma," police said during the briefing. First responders attempted life saving measures on the man. He was then transported to the hospital by EMS where he was later pronounced dead at 6:20 p.m., according to police. APD said during the briefing that homicide detectives were actively conducting an investigation, and a person was detained for questioning. This is now being investigated as Austin's 47th homicide, according to police. Anyone who has any details on the shooting can contact APD's homicide unit at 512-477-3588. No other details were released Friday.
