BOULDER, Colo. A woman was struck and killed by a driver in southeast Boulder early Friday morning, but police do not believe speed or impairment were a factor in the deadly crash, according to a police department spokesperson. Officers were called north of the intersection of Broadway and Rayleigh Rd. at approximately 4:58 a.m. for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian. At the scene, investigators determined a 2004 Honda Accord was going north on Broadway when the driver struck the woman north of the crosswalk. The area around northbound Broadway at Ash Ave. closed as police conducted their investigation. Police said later Friday the victim was a 38-year-old woman, adding the Boulder County Coroner would identify the victim once family had been notified. The driver was only identified as a 27-year-old man by police, who said he remained on scene and was cooperative with investigators at the scene. "There were no initial indications of driver speed or impairment being a factor in the crash," the spokesperson said in a news release. It's unclear if the driver will face any charges in connection with the crash.
