St. Paul’s Snow Summit is back for another year, returning on Oct. 5 at the Dale Street Municipal Garage, for residents to learn about how they can prepare for the winter months. Residents can go to the free family-friendly summit from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to visit exhibits from different organizations and city departments. The summit will also give residents the opportunity to visit city snow plows and other equipment. Residents can donate new or gently used mittens, hats and scarves at the summit in addition to non-perishable and hygiene products. All donations will go directly to St. Paul’s Community Cupboard, which is a program open year-round that aims to provide items for residents in need. Before the summit, the Alley Captain Conference will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is open to current alley captains or people who are interested in becoming an alley captain. The captains volunteer to organize private plowing services for their alleyway. The conference will include a panel and Q&A segment. Those who are interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP on the city’s website.
