Tracking Helene: The Pinpoint Weather 12 Team is tracking Helene. The storm made landfall around the Big Bend of Florida as a Category 4 storm, bringing a catastrophic storm surge, destructive winds and flooding rains. The storm will is moving from Georgia into Tennessee and continues to weaken.
Good Evening:
Clouds increasing, but we expect dry skies Tonight and extending into the weekend
Now "Tropical Depression" Helene is now working through Tennessee Valley bringing heavy rain and gusty winds in addition to the threat of tornadoes, especially across the Carolinas. The system continues to weaken in intensity. Last night, Helene made landfall in the Big Bend of Florida.
With winds of 140mph, the Category 4 storm worked inland near Perry, Florida around the mouth of the Aucilla River...not a very populated area, but the size of the storm is so far reaching that most of the state of Florida saw impacts from Helene
