SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- SiouxperCon is a weekend dedicated to board games and video games, comic books, movies cosplay and science fiction at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. The doors open at 8 a.m. There will be workshops, panels, seminars, photo ops and exhibits throughout the day. Admission is $20. SiouxperCon runs through Sunday. The Sioux Falls Walk to End Alzheimer's is a fundraiser for Alzheimer's research as well as providing care and support for South Dakota families. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at Levitt at the Falls. The opening ceremony, emceed by KELOLAND's Tom Hanson, begins at 10 a.m. That's followed by the walk. Bark in the Park is a fundraiser for the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society. Activities at Pasley Park in Sioux Falls include a 3 & 5K Fun Run at 10 a.m. plus pet contests including doggie musical chairs, prettiest pooch, handsome hound and best trick. The richest rodeo in South Dakota is now even richer Feria de Salud is a free, family-friendly health fair that focuses on the needs of the local Latino community. The event includes a variety of services and opportunities to learn about health issues, including heart disease, cancer and diabetes. There will also be flu shots, vision screenings for children plus glucose testing and blood pressure readings. It's taking place at the Avera Prairie Center in Sioux Falls from 2-5 p.m. The Tri-State Band Festival features 19 bands performing and competing in Luverne, MN. The parade competition begins at 9:30 a.m. along Main Street in Luverne, MN. That's followed by the field competition in the afternoon at Cardinal Field at Luverne High School. The Big Sioux Review features performances by 16 marching bands from South Dakota and Minnesota performing at Brandon Valley High School. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. West Nidaros Lutheran Church north of Crooks, SD is hosting a Harvest Festival Supper. Serving time is 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $20, $5 for youth, free for ages 5 and under. Carry-out is available A bake sale & farmers market starts at 4 p.m. The Fall Festival at Country Apple Orchard in Harrisburg, SD includes picking your own apples, a petting zoo, apple cannon range, a zip line and corn maze. Today's hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday's hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $14.95. Free for kids under three feet tall. The Fall Festival runs every weekend through October. The Heartland County Corn Maze, east of Harrisburg on Highway 11, is open for its 25th season. The 11-acre maze is open from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday's hours are noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $9, $6 for children and free for ages 4 and under. The Premiere Playhouse presents Freaky Friday at the Orpheum Theater Center in downtown Sioux Falls. The performance is at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35. It's Movie Night at the Urban Adventure Center. A free showing of the film, Treasure Planet, rated PG starts at 6 p.m. A concession stand will be available. Movies playing at the historic State Theater in downtown Sioux Falls include The Circus, rated G, Metropolis (NR) and Pan's Labyrinth, rated R. The Wells Fargo CineDome & Sweetman Planetarium features Wings Over Water, Magic Globe, Unseen Universe and Cities of the Future. New movie releases playing at a theater near you include The Wild Robot, rated PG and Megalopolis, rated R. The richest rodeo in South Dakota history takes place Saturday night at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls. The Cinch Playoffs features rodeo performers vying for a share of $1.3-million dollars and the Governor's Cup. The action starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $13.75 on up.
