State of emergency declared in multiple Kentucky counties

UPDATE: Sept. 27 at 5:36 p.m. According to another post to X by Gov. Beshear, the list of counties declaring a state of emergency continues to grow. They include: Boyd, Breathitt, Clark, Clay, Lee, Letcher, Magoffin and Wolfe counties. Cities include: Ashland, Catlettsburg, Clay City and Winchester. ORIGINAL STORY: In a post to X, Gov. Andy Beshear said that Breathitt, Clark, Lee and Letcher counties and the city of Winchester have verbally declared a state of emergency. Kentucky continues to see widespread damage and power outages. Beshear urged the public to stay safe.
