(GUNNISON COUNTY, Colo.) — FOX21 Morning anchors Abbie Burke and Craig Coffey spent Friday morning, Sept. 27 on the campus of Western Colorado University (WCU), learning more about all the exciting opportunities the university has to offer for students. Craig and Abbie were joined by Greg Vanderbeek, Lecturer for the Paul M. Rady School of Computer Science & Engineering, who expanded on the computer science track at WCU and how it is helping students get better prepared for a career in the field. "Being in the Gunnison Valley is a special place, really second to none. And we've been able to leverage that by working with our community members, we have a lot of really innovative startups, cool companies that want to engage engineers, and get them working," said Vanderbeek. "And that experiential education has really been the backbone, a differentiator for this program." You can find the full interview in the video player above.
