BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- The New York State Department of Transportation announced Friday that a new Town of Lancaster traffic signal is set to be activated in mid-October. The light will be activated in flashing mode at the intersection of U.S. Route 20 at Ransom Road beginning Oct. 14. Red, yellow and green operation will begin Oct. 21. From Oct. 14 through Oct. 20, the signal will operate in flashing yellow on Route 20 and flashing red on Ransom. Flashing yellow means to slow down, look and proceed with caution while a flashing red means to come to a complete stop and proceed when clear. Motorists are advised to use caution when approaching the new signal.
