BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Oktoberfest celebrations are just around the corner and the Junior League of Bakersfield is set to celebrate with "Brews for Books" fundraiser next Saturday. Oktoberfest: Brews for Brews will be held at the JLB Community Center on Oct. 5 and will feature a beer garden yard games, costume contest and Oktoberfest-themed food. Party in the Garden happening at Sister Cities Garden at Mill Creek Park Saturday The event aims to address Kern's literacy deficits. One ticket purchased will provide books for one year for a child in kern through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by clicking this link.
