PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- The Petersburg Bureau of Police is investigating a Friday morning shooting that left a person injured. At around 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, the Petersburg Bureau of Police posted on Facebook that officers were on scene investigating a shooting in the 1600 block of East Tuckahoe Street. According to police, a victim was transported to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. Due to the heavy police presence in the area, the bureau advises people to avoid the area as officers conduct an investigation. Anyone who was in the area and may have seen or heard anything related to this incident is encouraged to call the Petersburg Bureau of Police at 804-732-4222.
