Some sun this afternoon with temperatures around or just above normal, in the mid to low-70s.  This dry weather expected to continue through Monday with similar temperatures and periods of sunshine.  Our next chance for rain will be the middle of next week.  In the meantime, let’s enjoy this lovely weather through the much-awaited weekend.  While we enjoy quiet weather, all eyes continue over to our south as we track Tropical Storm Helene with sustained winds of 45 mph, gusting up to 70 mph moving North at 32 mph.  Although it’s about 105 miles NNE of Atlanta, GA, it’s bands extend down to Florida and parts of the Bahamas.  Helene is producing historic and catastrophic flooding over portions of the southeast and southern Appalachians.  A flood emergency is in effect for Metro Atlanta, much of upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina.  Helene is forecast to weaken to extra tropical later today.
