PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Four Rhode Island men have been charged for alleged participation in an operation that stole millions of dollars in high-end luxury vehicles across multiple states. Belter Giron, 28, of North Providence, Alberto Rivera, 24, of Cranston and Richard Robinson, 32, and Onix Eduardo, 27, both of Providence are charged with conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property and interstate transportation of stolen property. According to the Rhode Island U.S. Attorney, the four defendants burglarized a dozen car dealerships and stole 120 vehicles valued at approximately $5 million between February and July of 2023. The group is accused of targeting high-end, luxury brand vehicles such as Porche, Mercedes and BMW. They are also accused of targeting a motorcycle dealership in Pennsylvania and stealing 19 Husqvarna motorcycles, and 11 dirt bikes from a dealership in Phillipston, MA. These dirtbikes were allegedly stored at Giron’s North Providence home. The group is accused of engaging in multiple conversations related to the stolen vehicles, as well as efforts to sell them. Surveillance video obtained by the Providence police allegedly depicts Giron and Robinson placing a cover over a $96,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee in a Providence driveway in March of 2023. This vehicle was reported stolen from a Hampstead, NH dealership one day earlier. The group is accused of stealing 200 total vehicles, and 41 of them have been recovered by law enforcement. One recovered vehicle, a Range Rover, was recovered from a New Jersey shipping container to be shipped to Africa.   Categories: News, Rhode Island
