WILKES COUNTY, N.. (WGHP) — The effects of Tropical Storm Helene are causing impacts all across the state of North Carolina and in the Triad.
Wilkes County Emergency Services says that the Wilkes County 911 Center has lost its primary operations.
Helene continues to threaten western North Carolina with life-threatening floods as it approaches the Carolinas
As a result, all 911 calls are being rolled over to Ashe County.
If you are in Wilkes County and have an emergency you should still call 911 and Ashe County will take your call.
All non-emergency operations in Wilkes County have been suspended and will resume after the storm has passed.
