Lake Lure Residents Urged To Evacuate To Higher Ground Immediately

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, N.C. – A flash flood emergency has been issued for the Lake Lure Dam by the National Weather service (NWS). Residents in the area are urged to evacuate to higher ground immediately. The NWS has confirmed that dam failure is imminent. Flash Flood Emergency is in effect until 2 a.m. Saturday, September 28th.
