BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Greater Divine Missionary Baptist Church is excited to invite the North Baton Rouge community to their 10th annual Clothes Giveaway and Wellness Fair from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 5. The event will take place in the parking lot area of 6045 Hooper Road. They aim to support and uplift the community by providing essential items and information for a healthier lifestyle. "It's so vital to be able to feel confident in what you wear ... just making sure you feel good on the outside and the inside," said Jazminn Russell, the youth director. "Taking care of the outside was just one portion of it and then we heard the community talk about things that they lack, and so we brought in the community partners. ... Greater Divine is here. We love. We see you. We hear you." The East Baton Rouge Parish Library will be there with the bookmobile, ready to sign people up for a library card and offer other resources. Just Kids Dental will have a pediatric dentist on hand for children and the Family Services of GBR will offer dree confidential health screenings. Attendees can also speak with an independent agent to learn more about financial independence and resources to help create generational wealth.
