BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Could more night games be coming to Tiger Stadium? Safety could be a determining factor. LSU Sports Radio reported that turf temperatures near the LSU bench reached nearly 130 degrees just before the kickoff of last weekend's game against UCLA. Viewers may have noticed that the stadium's east side, where the sun was shining, was almost empty by halftime. LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly mentioned that the state of Arizona has legislation that doesn't let games start before 6 p.m. during September. He said LSU and the state of Louisiana might want to consider doing the same. LSU ranks in top 10 schools to become professional football player, study shows Kelly said, "We saw what happened. I just need to see that happen once, right, that in a place like Tiger Stadium to have that kind of environment where it is just so difficult to sit and watch a game, um, it totally makes sense." He said, "I get it, right, I mean, TV's involved, the conference is involved, there's a lot of things that you have to consider, but I would definitely throw my hat in the ring on supporting something like that." LSU and South Alabama are scheduled to play at 6:45 p.m. in Tiger Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 28.
