Weather Forecast: Helene's outer bands run through New York State this weekend
Sep 27, 2024
ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) - Partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies make for a nice day as temperatures get back into the 70s. While we enjoy a nice day, it's a flood zone to our south as Hurricane Helene moves toward Tennessee and Kentucky.
The storm will stall out and pivot east toward Virginia. As it does this through the weekend, We crank up on cloud coverage locally. There are hints that a few waves of showers may pass overhead Saturday morning, but they may struggle to make it all the way to Rochester.
The remnant low pivots toward the Atlantic Ocean and we should see a quiet Monday, the last day of the month. A cold front moves through Tuesday into Wednesday, bringing rain showers and thunderstorms going into October.
