Flights from Providence see impact of Tropical Storm Helene

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Helene hit Florida as a Category 4 storm, and has now weakened on land.
The storm brought hundred plus mile per hours wind and serious storm surge.
As of right now, service FlightAware is reporting canceled a total of four flights this morning from Providence, with more expected as the storm continues.
A total of 122 flights have been cancelled from Charlotte/Douglas International Airport, and 92 have been cancelled out of Tampa International Airport.
As the storm approached groups from across New England made their way south to provide aid to those in the path.
A group called Massachusetts Task Force task Force one sent 45 members down to North Carolina Wednesday night.
The Red Cross of Massachusetts said more than 500 disaster responders are ready in Florida and Georgia.
