WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The cause of death for Wichita firefighter Ty Voth was released on Thursday, and the City of Wichita is asking for a federal investigation. Voth, 27, died while on duty battling a house fire near Haysville. The medical examiner determined Voth died of "unspecified cardiac arrest while fighting a fire." It was ruled an accident. The City of Wichita submitted an application to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health to look into Voth's death, but it's not a guarantee the agency will investigate.
