MINOT, ND (KXNET) — Winter is near and one organization is helping to make sure low-income households in North Dakota will be ready. Community Action Partnership is helping, with its annual winter coat drive. They'll be collecting winter coats, along with beanies, gloves, snow boots, and scarves. Leaders say they've already collected more than 100 coats. They say this is a lot more than in the past, having to find more space to store the coats. Great Plains Food Bank celebrates 15 years for Food Recovery Program The program manager says despite the overflow, they're still asking for more coats of certain sizes. "We are looking for coats for children, adults, 0-99, basically any size. We do have quite a few children's coats, but we need larger sizes," said Tena Dewanz, the Program Manager at Community Action. This winter coat drive happens between August to December, but donations are welcomed all year long. You can donate at Community Action Partnership at 2020 8th Avenue Southeast in Minot.
