NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority has 21 new buses on the road. According to the RTA, the new buses are a mix of hybrid and diesel vehicles and include technology that allows each bus's location and number of riders to be monitored. Blue Cross Blue Shield ordered to pay over $400 million in lawsuit with local surgical center "This is an exciting milestone in delivering world class service for riders," said RTA CEO Lona Edwards Hawkins at a Tuesday unveiling ceremony. RTA officials said the buses were funded by $18 million from the American Rescue Plan Act. As the new buses roll out, RTA leaders hope to have another eight to replace its oldest ones in January.
