The Latest Northeast Wisconsin Forecast from Storm Team 5... Good Morning! The storm system from yesterday has moved well off to our east, so any cloud coverage from that has cleared away from the area, giving way to sunshine today and above average temperatures. With clear skies, light winds and some moisture in the air, there have been a few spots reporting some fog this morning. This should be lifting early in the morning, but if you are on your way out early, watch out for patchy dense fog. After the fog lifts, I'm expecting mostly sunny skies with a few fair weather clouds popping up in the afternoon from the daytime heating process of the atmosphere. With more of a west wind, we will start to bring in warmer temperatures in the mid 70s today. Overnight, clear skies with lows in and around 50. Patchy fog will redevelop. Lots of sunshine will continue for the rest of the week and into the weekend with high temperatures in the middle and upper 70s, possibly hitting 80 around the Thursday & Friday timeframe. Yesterday I had a rain chance for gameday Sunday, now its looking less likely as he remnants of Helene appear to not push far enough inland. About the tropics, Helene was officially named yesterday as it reached tropical storm force and is expected to become a hurricane this morning. Once it moves past the Yucatan Channel, models indicate it will rapidly intensify into a major hurricane, making landfall in the Florida Panhandle Thursday evening. In terms of our next chance for rain, a trough will dig into the area early next week, but latest model data indicates the rain will dry up as it approaches. This system though will bring some gusty north winds and a cool down into the mid 60s Tuesday
