WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- A former accountant with the Wichita Police Department has received diversion after facing felony theft charges. Shauna Dickman was arrested in 2023, accused of stealing thousands from the department while working as an accountant. The crimes happened between May 20, 2019, to March 2023, and Aug. 2, 2021, to March 2023. Wichita police release details in shooting outside elementary school Court documents show that Dickman was accused of taking thousands of dollars from the city during that period. She was only caught after funds that were collected from a charity golf tournament, and raffle never reached their intended recipients, leading to an investigation by Wichita police. In 2015, Dickman received an award from the Wichita Police Department. She was recognized for “outstanding accuracy in financial document entry” for her work the previous year when she entered 14,064 items with a 99.7% accuracy rate, according to the department’s Facebook post. Dickman has received a 12-month diversion. Details of that diversion are not currently available.
