FRANKLIN, Ind. — The Franklin Police Department is investigating threats that were made against a local school. According to a press release from the department, FPD, Franklin High School administrators and school resource officers began looking into a threat made by a student Tuesday afternoon. The investigation resulted in police identifying a potential suspect. FPD reported that its detectives are still looking into the threats. The agency also indicated that it intends to forward charges related to this case to the Johnson County Prosecutor's Office for review. Police are still encouraging those to those with additional information on the threats that were issued Tuesday to contact FPD investigators. The department's non-emergency line is (317) 346-6336. FPD also has a tip line — (317) 346-1100. "We will continue to work closely with school officials and community leaders to ensure a thorough investigation and charges where warranted," FPD Chief Kirby Cochran said via release. "We encourage anyone with information related to this situation to come forward to school officials or the Franklin Police Department. We appreciate your support, understanding and everyone working together to keep our children and our community safe."
