CAMDEN, SC (WOLO) — No matter who wins in November, South Carolina Senate District 35, which includes parts of four Midlands counties, will have a new state senator. Republican Mike Jones has decades of service in the military but is new to politics. He says part of his campaign has been a lot of knocking on doors. Jones beat Lindsay Agostini for the party nomination in this summer’s runoff. He believes that improving Kershaw County means focusing on infrastructure needs. His opponent, Democrat Jeffrey Graham, also believes infrastructure improvements are needed in the district in order to spur economic growth. Having served as mayor of Camden, Graham hopes to make the district a more attractive place to live. Graham narrowly beat Austin Floyd Jr in the Democratic primary and hopes to keep the district blue after Election Day.
