BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) —If you are a caregiver for people of any age, you are invited to the 2024 Caring for the Caregiver summit next month at the Bismarck Public Schools Career Academy. North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS) is putting on this summit to provide support and education to residents of the Peace Garden State who spend lots of time caring for others. Caregivers will have the chance to learn from experts, learn how to prioritize self-care, and connect with other caregivers. “There are several resources for not only those receiving care, but for caregivers as well,” said HHS's Adult and Aging Services Director Nancy Maier. “This is an excellent opportunity for caregivers to invest in themselves while learning how to enhance their caregiving journey.” Therapy dogs proven to boost moods in new study To help make sure all caregivers can attend, HHS will provide Lifespan Respite Grant vouchers to help cover the cost of temporary care for a person receiving care from the caregiver. The summit is entirely free, and will take place Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Bismarck Public Schools Career Academy. For more details and to register, visit the HHS website.
