Sheriff’s officials identify 23yearold Lemon Grove man killed in shooting

A 23-year-old man who died after he was shot multiple times in Lemon Grove last week has been identified by sheriff’s officials as Darron Willie Singleton Jr.
Sheriff’s officials were called to Dain Court near Elkhorn Street around 10:55 p.m. on Sept. 18 after multiple people reported hearing gunfire in the area, homicide Lt. Michael Krugh said.
When they arrived, deputies found Singleton lying in the street suffering from gunshot wounds to his torso, Krugh said. He died before he could be taken to a hospital.
Investigators said Singleton was a Lemon Grove resident and was killed near his home.
Krugh said investigators are trying to gather more information to determine what led up to the shooting. No information about the shooter was available Tuesday.
