ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Two kids were arrested in Seneca County and charged with making a terroristic threat after a threatening message was posted on Snapchat, according to the Seneca Falls Police Department. The message was brought to SFPD's attention by both the FBI and the New York State Intelligence Center on September 23. One hour after being notified, the two kids were taken into custody. FBI warns about posting fake threats online According to Seneca Falls Police Chief Timothy Snyder, no specific school was mentioned in the post and there is no ongoing threat to local schools or the community. “This kind of behavior will not be tolerated in our community,” Police Chief Timothy A. Snyder said. “We take all threats seriously, and our swift response demonstrates our commitment to ensuring the safety of our residents, especially our youth.” The two kids are facing felony charges of making a terroristic threat. They were both released to the custody of their parents and will appear at Seneca County Probation at a later date.
