FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Multiple services to assist veterans, active service members, and their families will be available this week in Fresno during the 34th annual Central Valley Veterans Stand Down. The non-profit Healing California will be on-site with a free, fully equipped mobile pop-up dental and vision clinic. Dental services include an exam, x-rays, extractions, fillings, or cleanings. Vision services include an eye exam, and if needed, a new prescription and up to two free pairs of glasses crafted on-site. Central Valley Veterans say attendees will also have access to drug and alcohol recovery counseling services, numerous social service providers, and help with outstanding legal issues from the Fresno County Court System. Valley veterans return to Fresno from honor flight According to organizers, the stand down will also provide educational counseling, employment counseling, home purchase counseling, and small business startup counseling, to help stimulate economic development and support the livelihood of those who served the country. The Central Valley Veterans Stand Down will be held Wednesday and Thursday at the Veterans for Foreign Wars Post 8900 on 3585 N. Blythe Ave. in Fresno.
