KERMAN, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Get rid of household hazardous waste at a free drop-off event in Kerman on Saturday. Fresno County will be holding a waste drop-off event at the parking lot of Kerckhoff Park in Kerman on Sept. 28. Organizers say the event will be limited to the first 250 vehicles and limited to 15 gallons or 125 pounds per vehicle. Residents can bring household hazardous items such as fluorescent tubes, bulbs, drain or oven cleaners, batteries and more. E-waste items, garden items, and items for workshops and garages can also be brought to the event. Fresno County adds that they will not accept, business waste, medical waste, ammunition, waste powder, asbestos, tires, large appliances, garbage, tinted wood waste and charred or fire-damaged debris. This is a drive-thru event and people attending will not need to leave their car. The event will be on Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Kerckhoff Park at 15061 West G Street, in Kerman.
