WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- A non-profit that assists at-risk children, teens, and families has received a significant donation. The Fidelity Bank Foundation has awarded EmberHope a $100,000 grant. The grant will be used to develop a new sensory-focused, accessible playground at the Family Engagement Center. “We are honored to enable the construction of an accessible environment for families to begin creating cherished memories and plant the seeds of a brighter future," says Fidelity Bank President & CEO and Fidelity Bank Foundation Board Member Aaron Bastian in a news release. "We extend our deepest gratitude to the staff and volunteers of EmberHope for their life-changing work.” Wichita day care provider and foster mother charged with child abuse EmberHope's Family Engagement Center serves as a hub for family visitations between foster youth served by EmberHope and their families. The grant will help construct a new playground with accessibility features and sensory-engaging elements that will allow it to be utilized by children of all abilities and their families. "We are deeply grateful to the Fidelity Bank Foundation for their incredible support," says Nickaila Sandate, President and CEO of EmberHope. "This grant will have a profound impact on the families we serve, allowing them to experience joy and connection in a space that is accessible and welcoming to all. The new playground will be a cornerstone of our Family Engagement Center, enhancing the quality of visits and strengthening family bonds." As of July 1, EmberHope oversees all DCF foster care in Sedgwick County. The organization also offers residential programs, counseling, case management, and adoptions.
