TOPEKA (KSNT) - Earlier this month, 27 News found the City of Topeka was seeking brokerage services to help with the sale of Hotel Topeka. The city received no proposals. In the regular monthly mayor and city manager press conference, City Manager Robert Perez said the city's solicitation for brokerage services turned up no results. “Follow-up with some of the communities that would submit proposals for that type of work; some of them identified to us that they just didn’t have enough time to put a proposal together,” Perez said. The brokerage request for proposal deadline was Sept. 10. Perez said the city would continue soliciting brokerage services and is open to any deals or proposals that come to the city. Topeka no longer #1 emerging real estate market The city of Topeka was evaluating brokerage firms on the following aspects: 30% on hotel market knowledge. 25% on experience, qualifications, references and reputation. 25% on capacity, availability and understanding of scope. 10% on completeness and adherence to the proposal format. 10% on the reasonableness and transparency of the proposed fees.
